The Many Faces of Ministry

Ministry opportunities

Kabod International

The partnership between Sowing Seeds in Belize and Kabod International is an exciting new opportunity for this small ministry. Kabod will be the new distribution center for the container ministry, we will be serving alongside of them in mens, womens, and childrens, and family ministry.

Laugh out Loud Childers’ Home

We are anxious to begin our work as we come alongside of Laugh out Loud. We are not sure where God will be taking this partnership, but the moment that we walked on the grounds, we knew that this was a place where we needed to serve. For more details, please head on over to the container ministry page where you will find the list of needs for them and their daily operations.

Supporting the Local church

Our partnership with the Blue Creek Village has been a blessing and we look forward to deepening this connection as we meet, dream, support, laugh, pray and do ministry together. We will be addressing the many needs in this village, from building shower huts to distributing Love Bags to the elderly and single moms and much in between. While our cultures are very different, we serve the same God!

Scholarships

We were able to sponsor nine primary, high school and college students during this current school session. We carefully select those students who could not get an education without help and those who are motivated and have dreams of what an education will help them realize. We connect with the students we sponsor so that we can encourage them, keep up with their progress and be aware of additional needs they may have.

Life Group Ministry

What started out as a weekly gathering with the couple that we consider our closest friends here quickly started to grow! Meeting at different homes each week, we eat, pray, laugh and study God’s Word together - we are living life together as we grow in our faith. Praise be to God!

Elderly and Shut-in Visitation

Trekking through the beautiful jungle flora, up a steep single foot path, we met with this elderly couple who live in a primitive, humble dwelling. After sharing some of their life stories, and seeing the challenge of how they acquire their daily food, we prayed for God’s blessing and provision for their life.

Single Mothers support and ministry

This single mom, Rosa, was overjoyed when our team popped in for a visit with a Love Package of blankets, toiletries, flashlight, batteries and food. Overcoming many difficulties, Rosa is so grateful to God for the healing that He brought to her daughter who a number of years ago was in a wheelchair. Today, she is able to walk and even dance! Our team prayed for God’s provision and strength to be abundant in their lives.

Equipping the Disabled

On of the desires of our Life Group is to find those who are struggling or facing hardship so we can encourage and pray for them. This young woman (in her 40s) had a stroke about a year ago. She is making great progress in her recovery but still has a long way to go. She was so grateful for our visit, the food and the prayers for her complete recovery. We are hoping for donations of wheelchairs and walkers on our 2023 container so that we can bless others who are in need.

Women’s Ministry

Praying that God would give me (Cindy) opportunities to share and pray with other women, He granted that request through the invitation to be part of the leader team of a newly established women’s Bible Study. This group is growing, both in number and in faith - thank you Lord! Opportunities to mentor several young ladies has also come my way - this is my heart, to share what God has done for me with others who need a word of encouragement, support and prayer. “Ask, and it shall be given you …” Matthew 7:7

Adventures and Excursions

We love the many opportunities for excursions! Whether it is taking a host work team on a jungle hike to explore a cave, or experiencing how chocolate is made from bean to bar (and tasting it at every stage …. yuummm!), or taking local teens and adults to see the wonders of their country that they have not had the opportunity to see, we love to expose them to the culture and the beauty of Belize.

Lending a hand…wherever we can

There’s a sense of excitement and adventure not always knowing what your day will bring when you leave it open for time to meet the needs of others: giving a ride to a stranger who doesn’t have a car and needs to get to the hospital quick because his wife is in labor and having difficulties; traveling with our village partners to a remote village to encourage and pray for a pastor who lost his church; delivering blankets to village friends. And yeah …. even build a church!

There’s never a dull moment!
